The south shore of Patrick Henry Lake holds Warriors' Path State Park, a 1,000-acre area available for daytime outdoor activities and overnight camping. Many miles of hiking, mountain biking and horse trails offer varying levels of difficulty and length, from an easy 1/2 mile stroll along the Lakeshore Trail to the 2-1/2 mile Devil's Backboke Trail, which leads up to the ridgetops and down into the valley. The lake is open for boating, water skiing and fishing, and during the summer a swimming pool complete with a life guard is open to public use. It is located along the river, south of Kingsport, across the water from the challenging 18-hole Warriors' Path Golf Course.
